The extended-release tablets are usually taken once a day. Cipro brand extended-release tablets may be taken with or without food. Because Cipro extended-release tablets should be taken with a main meal of the day, preferably the evening meal. Take this medicine at the same time (s) every day. The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection you have. Your doctor will tell you how long to take ciprofloxacin. Follow the instructions of the recipe, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take this medication exactly as directed. Do not take more or less than prescribed or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
